About the Artist
I make one of a kind physical objects that begin as photographs. My work focuses on the decisive moment, the exact second where emotion and environment align. I use documentary and street photography as a raw material for physical labor, integrating embroidery and print weaving to create something that cannot be replicated.
My process is an exercise in patience and tactile exploration. During my creative process, I lean into the uncertainty of how paper reacts to a needle or how light illuminates in the darkroom, trusting the material to lead the work to an unexpected place. By integrating these historic and physical techniques, I move beyond the digital image, allowing me to layer narratives, using embroidery or weaving to blend two perspectives, ensuring that the final work is as much about the journey of making as it is the subject itself.
I want my audience to walk away with a sense of intrigue about the people they pass every day. By weaving and stitching into these images, I am trying to give the feel of the physical world back to the viewer. My work is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and find the profound stillness in our fast paced community.
